Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Band 5 Clinical Research Practitioner to join the Clinical Research Facility (CRF). The role focuses on coordinating and delivering the Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) BioResource and supporting early phase clinical research trials within the CRF.

You will identify and screen participants, obtain informed consent, collect samples, and manage data while maintaining study documentation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in coordinating clinical research and delivering studies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for participant engagement.
• Knowledge of study documentation, data handling, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate IBHO BioResource activities and early phase CRF studies.
• Identify and screen potential participants; obtain informed consent.
• Collect/process biological samples; record vital signs; perform ECGs and phlebotomy when required.
• Maintain ISF, manage study data and respond to data queries.
• Assist sponsor monitoring visits and ensure procedures follow the protocol and regulations.
• Engage with participants and external partners to promote inclusive research participation.
