Job summary

St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London recruits a Clinical Research Nurse or Practitioner for Neurology on a fixed-term 12-month contract. The post coordinates interventional trials within the neurology research portfolio and collaborates with the research and multidisciplinary teams.

You will manage a caseload of trial patients, work with diverse teams, and strive to meet local and national targets while upholding high standards of practice.

Qualifications

  • Educated to diploma/degree level in Nursing.
  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate.
  • RN with Current NMC Pin.
  • Post-Registration Training.
  • Experience in audit and evaluation and clinical trial delivery would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage interventional clinical trials in Neurology.
  • Work with research teams and multidisciplinary colleagues to manage caseloads.
  • Achieve local and national targets for service delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical practice and documentation.
  • Support education and training of patients and staff as required.

The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of an interventional clinical trials covering the neurology research portfolio at St George’s.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service.

This exciting opportunity will suit a nurse/ practitioner with experience in the disease areas with special interest in research.

Qualification and Training
  • Educated to diploma/degree level in Nursing
  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate
  • Relevant Post-Registration Training
  • RN with Current NMC Pin
Experience
  • Previous experience in audit and evaluation
  • Experience explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear simplified manner
  • Experience in Neurology disease
  • Previous experience in Clinical Trial Delivery
  • Experience working as a preceptor/facilitator
  • Experience of formal/informal teaching of patients and staff
Skills
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritise workload
  • Working well as part of the team from different areas
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent use of relevant software
  • Experience in ECG’s, spirometry and phlebotomy
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
Knowledge
  • Experience in ECG’s, spirometry and phlebotomy
