A leading NHS Foundation Trust in Westminster is seeking a Clinical Research Matron to oversee a research team and ensure the delivery of high-quality, ethical clinical research. The role includes leading operational policies, staff training, and maintaining compliance with research standards. Ideal candidates will have a nursing degree and experience in clinical research management.
This key role will provide professional nursing leadership and management of the research team comprising research nurses, practitioners, data managers and research assistants, and will be responsible for the development of staff and the research portfolio within the overall RDU1 and 9 structure. The Clinical Research Matron will drive the expansion of the RDUs and underpin this with commercial and grant income to enhance Neurosciences and Paediatrics research at King's. Particular emphasis is on ensuring that all staff recognise their responsibility to deliver services in a high quality, courteous, patient-focused manner while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the research team and will lead on specific projects (staff training, induction, systems) as well as providing general support to the R&D Leads and Investigators. These include managing finances, resources and staff, and maintaining the overall standard of care for patients at all times. He/she will demonstrate the ability to negotiate with professional colleagues for coordinated care within the research and Clinical Trials Service as well as establishing a profile to influence existing and new relationships within and beyond the organisation. The Clinical Research Matron will contribute to the development of the department\'s research portfolio and oversee the safe and ethical implementation and delivery of all studies conducted. The post holder will work to ICH-GCP standards and the Research Governance Framework.
