Job description

We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Research Fellow in Neonatology to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at King's College Hospital. The post offers the opportunity to undertake research in Neonatology and advance the successful candidate's neonatal training and administrative skills in a teaching hospital environment.

Main duties of the job

This post is suitable for Paediatric Doctors who have a minimum of two years postgraduate experience, one of which must have been spent in appropriate neonatal training posts in neonatal intensive care units. MRCP/MRCPCH or equivalent is essential.

We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Research Fellow in Neonatology to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at King's College Hospital. The post offers the opportunity to undertake research in Neonatology and enhance the neonatal training and administrative skills of the successful candidate in a teaching hospital environment.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registerable medical qualification.
Higher Qualifications
  • MRCPH or equivalent
Registration
  • Full registration with GMC/GDC with License to Practice.
Training and Experience
  • Wide experience in all aspects of Paediatrics, culminating in award of CCT or equivalent.
  • Specialist training in Paediatrics.
Administration
  • Experience in day-to-day organisation of Neonatal services in a busy Teaching Hospital.
Desirable
  • Familiar with current structure of the Health Service and recent initiatives and changes.
Management and Leadership
  • Able to demonstrate leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
Audit & Quality Improvement
  • Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit and quality improvement.
Research
  • Ability to lead change and experience in conducting or supporting clinical research.
  • Relevant research experience in neonatal ventilation is desirable, along with publication of review articles or case reports.
Teaching
  • Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Personal Skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexible and resilient.
Desirable
  • Familiarity with IT and general computer skills.
