The University of Manchester is seeking a part-time General Practice Commercial Research Fellow to enhance commercial research delivery in primary care. This role offers academic support, networking opportunities, and a chance to develop new skills in a collaborative environment. The position is 0.2 FTE, starting August 2025, with a pro-rata academic clinical salary.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time General Practice Commercial Research Fellow to work in the Centre for Primary Care and Health Services Research, Division of Population Health, School of Health Sciences at the University of Manchester.
The NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) General Practice Commercial Research Fellowship (GP CRF) aims to provide general practitioners (GPs) with dedicated time to collaborate with key partners, including the NIHR Research Delivery Network, NIHR Commercial Research Delivery Centres, and NIHR HealthTech Research Centres. The goal is to develop new capacity in commercial research delivery in out-of-hospital settings and to increase the participation of general practices in commercial research.
Fellows will receive academic support from SPCR host departments, access to wider NIHR SPCR training resources, and be part of the broader SPCR network. They will also form a peer-support group, working alongside experienced academics to enhance their career development and acquire new skills in commercial research.
Fellows will engage in extensive networking with regional primary care providers, promoting and supporting the uptake of the commercial portfolio.
The fellowship is a 0.2 FTE position, starting from 1st August 2025 and running until 31st December 2026. Fellows will be paid an academic clinical salary on a pro-rata basis.
