Clinical Research Fellow (Core) in Spinal Research

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow (Core) in Spinal Research at Addenbrookes Hospital, part of Cambridge University NHS Foundation Trust to start as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

This post is part time 0.4 FTE (LTFT 40%).

This is a unique opportunity for a Clinical Fellow (Core) to gain more research experience and hands on experience in the running's of the day-to-day activities in a clinical trial with an interest in spinal surgery/neurosurgery.

The post will support the clinical and research teams in a numerous spinal research trials currently open and recruiting in the department - RECEDE- Myelopathy, POLYFIX-DCM, DISTRESSED substudy, COMP-CORD, DISCUS clinical trials.

Main duties of the job

The applicant will work with the team on the delivery of spinal research trials along with a research nurse and oversight of seniors (Principal Investigators and Co-Principal Investigators) and will have opportunity to be involved in any research output from the group including audits and research publications.

Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

This post may be suitable for those wishing to undertake an "F3" role.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
