Job description

Clinical Research Fellow - College of Medical and Dental Sciences - 104166 - Clinical post, United Kingdom

This role involves contributing to the RETINA-TBI study alongside a research team, collecting and analyzing data, and supporting research dissemination. The position offers infrastructure and expertise in neurotrauma research, with funding for 36 months. The fellow will also register for a higher degree and seek further funding opportunities.

Main Duties
  1. Coordinate patient recruitment for RETINA-TBI, including identification, consent, and trial procedures.
  2. Assist in site file and data management under guidance.
  3. Conduct literature reviews on relevant topics.
  4. Gather research data and experience to complete a higher degree (PhD or MD), adhering to fellowship and university conditions.
  5. Enhance understanding of cerebral perfusion in TBI.
  6. Perform research tasks and data collection.
  7. Prioritize tasks to meet project timelines.
  8. Collaborate on developing research techniques and methods.
  9. Assist in writing research grant proposals.
  10. Disseminate findings via publications, seminars, and conferences.
  11. Guide other staff and students.
  12. Contribute to research reports and publications.
  13. Develop research contributions using appropriate methodologies and analyses.
Qualifications and Experience
  • MRCS or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Experience with research methods and processes.
  • Experience in trauma neurosurgery.
  • Research publication record.

  • Plan resource use and research projects.
  • Coordinate work to prevent conflicts or duplication.
