Job Title: Clinical Psychologist (Band 8B)
Location: Ilford, East London
Duration: 3 months
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Start Date: 2-3 weeks
Rate of Pay: £38 per hour
What You'll Be Doing:
- Join our team as a Clinical Psychologist and play a crucial role in delivering specialist mental health services. In this role, you will:
- Provide expert psychological assessments, care planning, and evidence-based interventions.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, leading on the development of the Intensive Support Team (IST) for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism experiencing crises.
- Offer clinical supervision and leadership to Band 8A Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, Behaviour Specialists, and junior psychological practitioners.
- Support individuals at risk of hospital admission or placement breakdown by implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches and systemic interventions.
- Provide specialist consultation to inpatient and community learning disability teams, ensuring alignment with national healthcare initiatives and best practices.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A current and valid HCPC registration.
- Proven experience in a clinical psychology role, particularly within learning disabilities and autism services.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices and NICE-compliant psychological interventions.
- Experience managing high-risk mental health cases and behaviours of concern.
- Awareness of NHS Long-Term Plan priorities, safeguarding processes, and the ability to provide reflective practice and clinical supervision.
- Ability to take a lead role in psychological perspectives within multidisciplinary team discussions in inpatient and community settings.
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role offers a flexible working arrangement, requiring availability Monday to Friday. The contract is for 3 months, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service requirements.
