We're currently looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our expert team at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York.This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic interdisciplinary team, supporting individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injury and complex neurological conditions.

You'll deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention as part of a holistic, person-centred rehabilitation approach.You'll contribute to innovative neurorehabilitation programmes, benefit from excellent clinical supervision and CPD, and help embed psychological thinking within our 24/7 therapy model.

Main duties of the job

Active Neuro is redefining specialist care for individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and complex neurological conditions. With significant investment across our services, we are combining clinical excellence, advanced rehabilitation technology, and a 24/7 therapeutic model to create the most advanced neurorehabilitation pathway in the UK.

Our approach goes beyond therapy hours - every interaction is therapy. From rapid pre-admission planning and structured inpatient programmes to coordinated post-discharge support, Active Neuro ensures every stage of the patient journey is consistent, personalised, and outcome focused.

At the heart of this model is our comprehensive Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), which includes consultants, nurses, therapists, psychologists, and rehab assistants. This team works together to deliver individualised, goal-driven care, supported by shared outcome measures and real-time insights from our rehabilitation robotics and smart therapy technologies.

Our clinicians are empowered to lead change, embed innovation, and ensure rehab is not just delivered, but lived24 hours a day.

Active Neuro proudly supports both NHS ICB-funded and private patients, offering rehabilitation for a broad range of neurological presentations and complexities.

The role:

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalised rehabilitation plans
  • Deliver tailored psychological assessments, therapy, and interventions to support patient recovery
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of individual and group treatment programmes
  • Provide effective line management and clinical supervision to a part-time Assistant Psychologist, ensuring their professional development and the delivery of high-quality support to patients
  • Champion the emotional and mental well-being of patients and their families during their rehabilitation journey
  • Lead initiatives to promote self-belief and independence among patients
  • Contribute to the service's ongoing development through clinical expertise and innovation
  • Keep people safe from any harm and protect their human rights
