Wigan Children’s Services is developing a new multi-disciplinary Safeguarding Adolescent Service and is recruiting via GMMH for a Band 8A Psychologist (WTE).
You will be part of Wigan's ATOM service, supporting children at risk of becoming looked after, children in fostering placements at risk of breakdown, or those returning to family-based care from residential homes.
Based within a multi-agency adolescent safeguarding hub, you will work alongside professionals from safeguarding, youth justice, and targeted youth support.
We seek an experienced practitioner passionate about working with children and adolescents facing complex extra-familial harm, capable of supporting teams and individuals through formulation, consultation, and training.
This role also offers opportunities to work directly with children, young people, and their families, including parents and carers, employing a trauma-informed and relationship-based approach.
The post is primarily based in Wigan local authority, working within the ATOM team, alongside targeted youth support services and GMMH CAMHS. You will provide a specialist psychological service, including assessments, formulation, therapeutic interventions, and consultation.
You will be part of a multi-professional team supporting children and families on the edge of care, collaborating with local authority staff, CAMHS, and other agencies to ensure a psychologically and trauma-informed service.

Qualifications: Registration, 1+ years experience
Experience: Minimum 5 years
