Job Details

  • Job Title: Practitioner Psychologist
  • Location: Meadowcroft School – Wakefield, WF1 4AD
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday
  • Salary: Up to £65k (FTE, DOE) plus £3000 Welcome Bonus (payable as one payment of £1,500 after one month and another of £1,500 upon final probation completion. T&C's apply)
  • Contract: Permanent, Term-Time only (Full-time options available, please contact us to discuss)

Essential: Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle

We’re looking for a Practitioner Psychologist to support our clinical service, working closely with the Lead Clinician to develop neurodiversity and intersectionality affirming therapeutic support.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to expand our clinical services, delivering bespoke assessments and interventions for pupils, contributing to staff training, and shaping a holistic, therapeutic approach.

You will manage a caseload, supported by our Clinical Team, and contribute to training, consultation, and reflective practice. The role requires resilience, enthusiasm, a therapeutic approach, decision-making skills, and workload management.

Our Clinical Team fosters a nurturing environment, prioritizing safeguarding, respect, and involvement of pupils in decisions affecting them.

We aim for excellence in supporting vulnerable young people, building their futures and empowering them to succeed.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Doctoral level degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, Educational)
  • Registered with the HCPC and own professional body
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and additional needs (e.g., trauma, mental health, behaviors of concern)
  • Ability to collaborate with key partners
  • Sensitivity and conflict resolution skills
  • Continuing professional development relevant to the setting
  • Post-qualification experience with adults
  • Experience in lecturing/training
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
  • Skills in data management for service development and projects
