Job description

We would gladly consider a newly qualified B7 for a preceptorship post and provide support to move to the 8a in due course. The post offers an exciting opportunity to be part of an evolving and fast-paced Autism Assessment Service.

On appointment, you will be a core and valued part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team, working alongside a Principal Clinical Psychologist and other therapy colleagues.

You will have access to excellent supervision and a range of CPD opportunities. We support supervision and encourage participation in quality innovations, research, and audit. We have strong links with the local Clinical Psychology Training course at Staffordshire University.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Meeting the needs of clients, their carers, and families with compassion.
  2. Providing psychological advice to less experienced psychologists and other team members.
  3. Contributing to research within the team, including formal research activities.
  4. Proactively engaging in service improvement within your area.
  5. Promoting a positive image of neurodiverse people with mental health issues or learning disabilities.
  6. Promoting a positive image of the service and the wider Trust.

Our Trust is committed to service and system transformation to improve health and wellbeing through high-quality care. We prioritize team wellbeing and offer wellness opportunities, including flexible working.

We are dedicated to the Greener NHS initiative to become the world’s first ‘carbon net zero’ health system by 2045. Sustainability is embedded in our strategy, and we support staff in working towards these goals through our “Proud to be Green” campaign and sustainability programme.

We value diversity and inclusion at all levels and welcome applications from under-represented groups, including women, people with disabilities, individuals from global majority backgrounds, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
