Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an early career Clinical Psychologist to work with an older adult cohort in a role that spans both an acute ward and the community. The successful candidate will join a well-established multidisciplinary team in the acute setting, providing psychological care and treatment planning for individuals who are either informal or detained under the Mental Health Act, with organic or functional diagnoses.

The post involves community work, including time with the Recovery and Memory teams, and collaborates with two Trainee Clinical Associate Psychologists (CAPS) in their final year of training. The Psychological Therapies team for Older Adults, covering both acute and community settings, also includes two Assistant Psychologists and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist based on the ward, who will supervise this post.

The North Lincolnshire Care Group is a supportive team with strong links to adult services, crisis and home treatment teams, care home liaison, and Talking Therapies.

We welcome applications from those about to qualify and will provide good support for your early career development. The successful candidate will eventually lead, with support from the Consultant, a community-based Clinical Psychology service for Older Adults in North Lincolnshire, focusing on assessment, treatment, and support pathways for both functional and organic diagnoses. The role includes conducting psychological assessments, formulation, and therapeutic interventions for inpatients, as well as consulting with the inpatient multidisciplinary team.

Leadership responsibilities include supervisory duties for junior Clinical Psychology staff, following appropriate training. The postholder will be expected to engage in mandatory training, clinical supervision, and line management supervision.

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) employs around 4,000 dedicated colleagues across mental health, physical health, learning disabilities, and substance misuse services. We are committed to providing high-quality care and fostering inclusive, supportive workplaces.
