Job description

Come and join one of the UK's largest providers of complex care. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

Main duties of the job

Do you aspire to make a meaningful impact to the lives of individuals on their recovery journey? We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about delivering transformative care across our neurological rehabilitation services: Loyd House, Christchurch View, and Park House.

About us

Active Care Group are a pioneering national provider of complex care services, delivering pathways and better outcomes for people. We have a collaborative and holistic approach to care underpinned by proven clinical and therapeutic expertise. We specialise in supporting young people and adults with complex needs to make positive progress and lead happier, more independent lives.

Job responsibilities

At Active Care Group, every success story highlights our commitment to holistic, patient-centred care. Dennis’s journey at Christchurch View exemplifies the impact of this dedication. Years of trauma led Dennis to alcohol addiction, which, combined with a brain injury from two strokes and repeated falls and seizures, left him unable to live independently. However, with support from our team, Dennis has regained independence. Today, he is a volunteer, helping other residents with arts and crafts, cooking, and various activities. Reflecting on his progress, he says, “I can look at myself in the mirror now and like myself.”

Dennis’s story showcases how through tailored interventions, individuals can overcome significant challenges—from addiction to the effects of brain injury—and regain autonomy in their lives. This is the type of meaningful change you’ll facilitate every day across our services.

If you’re ready to make a lasting difference in the lives of service users like Dennis, apply today to join our team at Active Care Group.

What you'll be working:

Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.

We are offering a £2,000 per annum travel allowance to support commuting costs, along with additional mileage reimbursement for travel between sites if required.

What you'll be doing:

As a Clinical Psychologist, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering assessments and therapeutic interventions to service users with brain injury and complex neurological conditions. Your work will be instrumental in creating and guiding personalized rehabilitation plans to promote independence and recovery.

Your impact:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to understand the needs of each individual and develop tailored care plans that address their unique challenges.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, helping service users adjust to life-changing injuries or conditions and reach their full potential.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of individual and group treatment programmes.
  • Collaborate with a diverse, interdisciplinary team of clinicians to ensure holistic care that integrates physical and psychological rehabilitation.
  • Support families and carers, giving them the tools and understanding to help their loved ones recover and thrive.
  • Play an integral role in the continuous development of a service that changes lives, contributing your expertise to service improvement initiatives.
  • Keep people safe from any harm and protect their human rights.
