Following the transfer of our specialist psychological services into West Sussex County Council, we are at an exciting point and are recruiting two permanent Clinical Psychologists to the Consultation Assessment & Treatment Service (CATS) within the Community Psychological Service.
CATS is a Psychology-led service embedded within West Sussex Children's Social Care. It provides psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions for children, young people, and their families/carers concerning harmful sexual behaviour (HSB). This is an exciting time to join as we expand our services within Children's Social Care, including areas related to HSB and broader psychological support. The service also offers consultation, training, and reflective practice groups.
In this role, you will have experience in evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions with children and families, with an understanding of trauma-informed and relational approaches.
The role involves consultation to social care and colleagues, facilitating reflective practice, training delivery, and participating in service development.
New staff will undergo a comprehensive induction, shadowing, co-working opportunities, and specialist training, including external training on the AIM 3 assessment model.
You will receive regular clinical supervision from a Senior Clinical Psychologist, along with opportunities for co-working and team case discussions. The team collaborates with the University of Surrey Clinical Psychology Doctoral programme, providing placements to trainees.
Travel around the county is required, including to less accessible areas. Pool cars and bikes are available; a driving license is highly desirable.
