Following the transfer of our specialist psychological services into West Sussex County Council, we are at an exciting stage and seek to recruit two permanent Clinical Psychologists to the Consultation Assessment & Treatment Service (CATS) within the Community Psychological Service.
CATS is a Psychology-led service embedded within West Sussex Children's Social Care. It provides psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions for children, young people, and their families/carers concerning concerns about harmful sexual behaviour (HSB). This is an exciting time as we expand our services within Children's Social Care, including areas related to HSB and broader psychological support. The service also offers consultation, training, and reflective practice groups.
Ideal candidates will have experience in evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions with children and families, along with an understanding of trauma-informed and relational practices.
The role involves consultation with social care and other colleagues, facilitating reflective practice, delivering training, and participating in service development.
Applicants will receive a comprehensive induction, shadowing opportunities, and specialist training, including external training in the AIM 3 assessment model.
Regular clinical supervision from a Senior Clinical Psychologist, co-working, team case discussions, and placements for trainees are part of the support structure. The team maintains close links with the University of Surrey Clinical Psychology Doctoral programme.
Travel around the county is required; having a driving license is highly desirable as pool cars and bikes are available.
