This is an opportunity to work as a Clinical Psychologist at Potters Bar Clinic, a service for young people and adults with acute mental health needs and personality disorders. You will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working, and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and design and deliver training.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Psychologist at Potters Bar Clinic, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user's caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans. You will participate in the assessment of referrals, undertake high-quality direct and indirect specialist psychological interventions, and formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.

Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working, and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.

As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user's caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.

As a Psychologist, you will be:

• Participating in the assessment of referrals and providing initial assessments for service users.
• Undertaking high-quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
• Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods.
• Formulating and implementing plans of psychological treatment or management based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.
• Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
• Maintaining high standards of care in all practice areas, in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and company policies.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• BPS-recognized psychology degrees
• HCPC registration
• Chartered Psychologist status and relevant postgraduate qualifications
• Approved supervisor status within BPS guidelines
• Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
• Experience applying psychological knowledge in psychiatric settings
• Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits
• Research and project experience

The CAMHS Tier 4 Low Secure services are for young people aged 13–18. The clinic is located in a residential area, close to major transport links, making it accessible for most.
