About The Role

We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join RTN Mental Health Solutions. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the diagnostic journey for children, young people, and adults with suspected autism and ADHD. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering comprehensive assessments, clinical formulations, and psychological insight. Your expertise will also help shape the future of neurodevelopmental services at RTN.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis

  • Conduct comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments for children, young people, and adults with suspected autism and/or ADHD.
  • Administer and interpret gold-standard diagnostic tools, including ADOS-2 and ADI-R.
  • Develop clear summary formulations that integrate developmental history, observations, and assessment data to support diagnostic decisions.
  • Contribute psychological insight to multidisciplinary formulation and care planning.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Produce high-quality, person-centred diagnostic reports that meet clinical, professional, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with HCPC, GDPR, and RTN policies.

Collaboration and Team Working

  • Engage actively in multidisciplinary team discussions, contributing to holistic case understanding and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to ensure a joined-up approach to care.
  • Work alongside and occasionally support or supervise trainee Neurodevelopmental Practitioners, providing guidance as appropriate.

Consultation and Training

  • Offer expert advice and consultation on neurodevelopmental conditions to colleagues and partner professionals.
  • Contribute to in-house training sessions, promoting psychologically informed practice across the team.

Service Development and Professional Growth

  • Take part in service development initiatives, including audits, pathway design, and quality improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing clinical supervision and CPD to maintain HCPC registration and deliver high standards of practice.

About You

  • HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology.
  • Proven experience in autism and/or ADHD diagnosis in children or adults.
  • Formal training and practical experience in ADOS-2 and ADI-R administration.
  • Skilled in psychological assessment, formulation, and report writing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex clinical information clearly and empathetically.
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comfortable using digital systems to deliver remote assessments and maintain clinical records.
  • Experience supervising junior staff or trainees.
  • Background in both NHS and private sector settings.
  • Involvement in service development or clinical quality improvement initiatives.
  • Additional training in therapeutic approaches or neurodevelopmental assessment.
