The job role of a Clinical Psychologist at Barchester Healthcare involves providing specialist psychological services to patients in their independent mental health hospitals. The successful candidate will work with patients experiencing various mental health conditions, ensuring they receive high-quality, respectful, and dignified care. The role also includes liaising with other professionals, administering and interpreting psychometric and neuropsychological tests, and contributing to the development and review of care and risk management plans.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Psychologist at Barchester, you will work between Billingham Grange Independent Hospital (in Billingham) and Hawthorns Care Centre (in Peterlee) to provide specialist psychological services to patients. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with a range of mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, and psychosis. Your duties will include selecting, administering, and interpreting psychometric and neuropsychological tests, as well as collaborating with referrers, GPs, and other professionals to develop and review care and risk management plans. You will be expected to maintain accurate records and supervise the work of other multi-disciplinary staff when appropriate.
