A leading healthcare provider in Manchester is seeking qualified Clinical Practitioners for a face-to-face service at Trafford General Hospital. The role requires assessing and treating patients, providing immediate healthcare advice, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant degree, a V300 prescribing qualification, and experience in a minor illness role. Competitive rates of pay and flexible working options are offered.
We have an exciting new opportunity for Clinical Practitioners to join our face-to face see-and treat service at Trafford UTC, based at Trafford General Hospital. You will be working alongside our experienced GPs and ACPs, you will assess and treat patients within your scope of practice.
Hours/Shifts
We are seeking candidates to work 14 sessions per week 7.5 to 30 hours per week
Rates of pay £22.27ph to £30.58ph depending on day and times.
You must have right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer graduate or visa sponsorship and no visa extensions can be offered for this role.
The opportunityis open to qualified Clinical Practitioners with Level 7 Minor Illness qualificationand the V300 NMP course who would like to gain further face toface exposure and experience.
Overallpurpose of role is to provide care, support, and advice to patients across all agegroups, who require immediate healthcare advice, assessment, and treatment. Youwill assess patients signs and symptoms based on their individual needs,toprovide clinically effective patient care and promote best clinical practice.
The ClinicalPractitioner role will involve working in clinical setting where you willprovide advice over the phone, via video consultation or by assessment in ourtreatment centre and any future services. It will be expected that youappropriately conclude clinical cases at the first point of contact for minorillness or injury, including common health enquiries. This will involvesignposting to evidence-based resources appropriate to the presentingcomplaint, suitable safety netting to their own GP for timely follow up, or apharmacy for interim self-care and over the counter therapies.

It isexpected as part of the clinical practitioner role that you remain up to datewith physical examination and clinical assessment skills by ensuring a minimumof 50% of your clinical hours are in face-to-face clinical sessions.
Withappropriate training, you will be able to administer over label stockmedication for specific conditions as part of the Mastercalls patient groupdirectives (PGDs) in the out of hours period when there is urgent need.However, as you are qualified as a non-medical prescriber, your individualprescribing formulary would be agreed upon (prior to commencement of your role)and reviewed/submitted annually. This is to ensure that your individualformulary meets the scope of a clinical practitioner managing acute minorillness or injury.
You will beexpected to provide clear and concise safety netting advice and inform patientsof red flags appropriate to the presenting complaint. While providing clearinstructions in the event of a change or worsening in the individualscondition or symptoms, for example: to attend accident and emergency, 111,urgent treatment centres, or 999 ambulance services.
For patientswho require additional support, senior clinical advice or a face-to-faceassessment with a GP or ACP you will triage the case in a timely and efficientmanner and forward to the most appropriate resource. Ensuring that theirpriority of need is appropriate to the presenting complaint and considerate tothe service provision to be able to respond; especially in times of increaseddemand, time of day and resource availability.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
