The practitioner team covers several sites, wards, and departments within the business unit.

The practitioner's role is to provide independent, advanced clinical assessment and management of patients from admission to discharge, working independently of medical staff or remote assistance.

While covering base sites (North Tyneside General Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital), they are key members of the cardiac arrest team.

Practitioners provide senior clinical and non-clinical leadership within departments, wards, and sites.

These posts are predominantly based within the orthopaedic team, rotating between Hexham, Wansbeck, and NSECH sites.

This post falls within the provisions of Agenda for Change Annex 20 - Development of Professional Roles, allowing progression to the next pay band upon completion of an agreed set of competencies without applying for a higher-level post.
