Job summary

Scarborough Health Network is seeking a high-energy Clinical Practice Leader to oversee several departments (Emergency Medicine, Labour and Delivery, Nephrology, OR/Surgery, Vascular Safety, Diagnostic Imaging). The CPL reports to the Director of Professional Practice and leads a team across three sites, guiding clinical practice, education, and quality initiatives.

The role emphasizes patient safety, professional standards, and collaboration with program leaders; requires nursing registration

Qualifications

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Baccalaureate degree completed in Nursing
• Masters Degree completed or in progress
• Minimum three years of related clinical experience
• Current Basic (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Knowledge of Quality Based Procedures, Care Pathways and Best Practices Guidelines
• Familiar with CNO standards and guidelines; Lean/quality improvements preferred
• Experience with developing policies and procedures and learning packages for staff and patients

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and professional oversight to a dynamic staff team
• Oversee and supervise clinical and professional practice
• Develop and support professional expertise in patient care and education
• Lead education and orientation and participate in staff development activities
• Ensure quality and safety aligned with SHN standards and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with managers, directors and physicians to integrate professional standards and patient-centred care
