Job description

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Practice Facilitator to join our Surgical Division.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for leading change and improving clinical competencies among staff. In this role, you will be a key stakeholder in implementing a bespoke induction package tailored to our surgical ward teams and departments. Your focus will be on promoting learning outcomes for all staff levels by understanding their aspirations and facilitating their development through internal or external learning providers.

The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of current inpatient ward nursing issues, demonstrate clinical expertise, and exhibit strong leadership skills in practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading the development and implementation of training packages for staff and delivering induction for new starters.
  2. Ensuring all new starters complete mandatory training within designated timeframes.
  3. Supporting new staff through preceptorship and hospital induction programs, maintaining regular contact with preceptors.
  4. Ensuring submission of competency passports within required timeframes.
  5. Delivering classroom-based skills training specific to the practice area.
  6. Providing direct supervision to new staff in hospital, consolidating their learning.
  7. Planning, delivering, and coordinating local inductions.
  8. Assisting in recruitment processes.
  9. Acting as sign-off for staff e-portfolios and training within the Surgical Division.
