University Hospitals Tees is seeking a compassionate, motivated Medical Photographer for a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover based at The James Cook University Hospital, with cross-site work at One-Life on a rotational basis.

The post involves providing medical photography and video in the studio and across outpatient and inpatient areas, supporting the skin clinics and wider Medical Photography service across sites. A portfolio is required at interview.

Qualifications

  • Degree in medical photography or degree in photography with relevant clinical experience.
  • Registered/eligible with IMI and/or AHCS.
  • Portfolio of photography work required for interview.
  • Experience with image databases and editing software is essential.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and with challenging clinical environments.

Responsibilities

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the medical photography department. We are seeking a compassionate, motivated individual with a degree in medical photography or a degree in photography plus relevant clinical experience. In addition, the successful candidate will be registered/eligible (or qualified to a registered level) with the Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI) and/or Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS).

This is a 12 month fixed term contract for maternity cover, based at The James Cook University Hospital. Cross site working is also required at One-Life (in rotational periods) With the expectation to work across multi-sites to primarily support the skin clinics and wider UHT group Medical Photogrpahy service.

Shortlisted candidates should bring a portfolio of photography work for their interview.

The post holder will provide medical photography, and video, in the photography studio and across outpatient/inpatient environments within The James Cook University Hospital and additional sites as required. The successful candidate will join our team consisting of 2 clinical photographers, an imaging support worker, and a MIMS administrator. A thorough understanding of the medical photography department and experience with image databases and editing software is essential.

The post may involve dealing with difficult and distraught clients, emotional stress, death and various pathologies.

The post holder can be exposed to a range of clinical conditions including surgical procedures, specimens, deep and infected wounds, infectious

conditions and conditions of unknown pathology. Conditions encountered may be distressing to visual, olfactory or auditory senses.
