Job description

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHSFT

Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager

The closing date is 19 November 2026

Are you a dynamic, innovative and forward-thinking pharmacist with a passion for clinical services, people development and making a real difference?

Do you want the opportunity to work alongside an ambitious Chief Pharmacist/Head of Pharmacy and senior leadership team, with the freedom to challenge established ways of working, develop new ideas and turn opportunities into meaningful improvements for patients and our people?

If so, we would love to hear from you.

Following the maternity leave of our existing post holder, we are delighted to offer this exciting 6-month fixed-term or secondment opportunity to join our Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team as Clinical Services Manager.

This is a pivotal role within our pharmacy leadership team, with responsibility for our Education and Training teams and our specialist clinical pharmacy services. You will play a key role in shaping how we develop our clinical workforce, strengthen our services and maximise the contribution that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians make to patient care.

This is an exciting time to join our Pharmacy team.

We are looking for people who want to be part of shaping what comes next - not simply maintaining the status quo. You will have the opportunity to work with an innovative and ambitious Chief Pharmacist and a senior leadership team committed to developing our people, improving our services and exploring new opportunities for pharmacy.

Main duties of the job

This is more than a service management role.

We are looking for someone who is excited by opportunity and possibility - someone who can look beyond how things have always been done and ask, "What could we do differently?"

Working closely with the Chief Pharmacist and senior colleagues, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and develop high-performing clinical pharmacy services and specialist teams.
  • Shape our education, training and research offer and support the development of our current and future pharmacy workforce.
  • Develop pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants to reach their full potential and maximise their impact.
  • Lead service improvement, innovation and new ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues across the organisation.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen our services, workforce and patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to an ambitious pharmacy leadership team that is committed to doing things differently.

We are looking for an experienced senior pharmacist who can operate confidently at a strategic level, while remaining connected to clinical practice and the teams they lead.

You will be someone who brings energy, curiosity and ideas, but also the ability to bring people with you.

About us

There's never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We're working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital to open in 2030 and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we've ever undertaken.

Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.

At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.

We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as 'Good', and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.

We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome. We love working here and think you will too.
