Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board in Carmarthenshire is recruiting a pharmacist on a fixed term/secondment until 3 September 2027 to cover maternity leave. The post welcomes newly qualified pharmacists or those seeking a sector change to join a dynamic hospital pharmacy team at Glangwili General Hospital.

You will provide clinical support, counsel patients on treatment plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote safe, effective medicines use and discharge planning.

Qualifications

Registered pharmacist with UK registration.
Newly qualified or seeking a change of sector welcome.
Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical pharmacy support.
Counsel patients to optimise understanding and adherence to treatment.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective medicines use.
Actively participate in board and ward rounds to promote safe prescribing practices and discharge planning.
Support antimicrobial stewardship and medicines optimisation initiatives.
Contribute to service development and quality improvement projects.
Provide education and training by supervising undergraduate pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and clinical ward staff.
