Job summary

Hillton Primary Care Network in Bedford is seeking a highly motivated clinical pharmacist for a 12-month maternity contract across the practices within the PCN. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) starting January 2027, with training on local services provided and a supportive multidisciplinary team environment.

The successful candidate will deliver expert clinical medicines management, undertake structured medication reviews (face to face and remote), and contribute to medicines

Qualifications

• Qualified pharmacist with registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Independent prescriber status preferred.
• Excellent clinical and medication knowledge.
• Experience working as a GP practice pharmacist and undertaking medication reviews.

Responsibilities

• Clinical medicines management.
• Provide face to face/remote structured medication reviews.
• Manage long term conditions with medicines optimisation.
• Management of medicines on transfer of care and safer prescribing systems.
• Manage prescription requests including authorisations and reauthorisations.
• Medicines safety and quality improvement using national tools.
• Address public health and social care needs within GP practices.
