Locum Band 7 Pharmacist - Emergency Medicine - NHS Hospital - Kent

Via Hunter AHP

Position: Locum Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist - Emergency Medicine Rate: �28 - �32 per hour (dependent on experience), paid weekly via Hunter AHP Working Pattern: Flexible - 3, 4, or 5 days per week Contract Length: Ongoing locum contract, with potential for permanent position upon review Start Date: ASAP - within the next 4 weeks Independent Prescribing (IP): Funding and support available for the right candidate

Hunter AHP have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist to join the Emergency Department team at a well-regarded NHS hospital in Kent.

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused pharmaceutical care within a fast-paced emergency medicine setting, working closely with the multidisciplinary team. This post is ideal for pharmacists with previous hospital experience who are looking to broaden their clinical exposure, take on new challenges, and potentially develop into a permanent post.

The Role:

Deliver ward-based clinical pharmacy services within the Emergency Department (A&E)

Carry out medicines reconciliation, clinical screening, and patient counselling

Review prescriptions for appropriateness, safety, and adherence to local and national guidelines

Liaise with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to support optimal patient care

Provide input into discharge planning and timely supply of medications

Support junior staff and contribute to departmental development as required

Candidate Requirements:

GPhC-registered Pharmacist

Minimum 6-12 months' experience in an NHS hospital setting (Band 6 or 7 level)

Demonstrable clinical knowledge and confidence working in acute care settings (Emergency/Acute Medicine preferred)

Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills

Able to commit to a minimum of 3 days per week, ideally more

Able to start within 4 weeks of offer
