Are you a Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist ready to take on a career-defining locum opportunity? We’re offering an incredible 12-month contract in Lancashire, working in a dynamic NHS hospital covering maternity, gynaecology, and paediatrics wards.

Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist (Band 8a)

Location: Lancashire – easily commutable from Merseyside

Duration: 12-month maternity cover

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 5:00pm

End Date: June 2026

Rate of Pay: £27–£37 per hour, depending on banding and experience

What You’ll Be Doing:

In this specialist role, you'll:

Take ownership of clinical pharmacy services across maternity, gynae and paediatric wards

Be the clinical lead for Women’s, Children’s & Neonatology – supporting staff and fielding advanced queries

Work closely with MDTs to improve outcomes for vulnerable patient groups

Support and guide rotational pharmacists, sharing your expertise

Lead on governance initiatives, driving quality and safety across your service area

What You’ll Need:

GPhC registration as a Pharmacist

Significant hospital experience – ideally in paeds, women’s health, and neonatology

Excellent clinical knowledge and confidence managing complex queries

Strong communication skills and a team-first approach

Passion for improving patient care and supporting NHS excellence

The Package:

5 days per week, Monday to Friday
Long-term security with a 12-month maternity cover
Competitive Band 8a rate – up to £37/hour based on experience
