Current MaineHealth employees are not eligible for the sign-on bonus. Must be separated from MaineHealth system for 6 months to be eligible.

Position Overview

The Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department at Maine Medical Center. Core functions include:

  1. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy.
  2. Responding to medical emergencies in the ED and code blue activations across the hospital.
  3. Educating patients, families, and healthcare professionals to enhance clinical competency related to medication therapy.
  4. Providing direction to pharmacy technicians, students, and residents to ensure optimal medication management.
  5. Evaluating medication use processes and current literature to support continuous process improvement.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Pharm.D. from an accredited College of Pharmacy and eligibility for pharmacist licensure in Maine.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: The role involves reviewing medication orders for safety and efficacy, collaborating with healthcare providers, and making evidence-based recommendations.
  2. License/Certifications: Valid state license with the Board of Pharmacy is required.
  3. Experience: Previous pharmacist experience is preferred.
