Job description
Overview

Would you like to be part of an innovative and motivated team whilst developing your career portfolio? Do you share our health board values and passion for improving the care of patients in Wales? We have a number of exciting opportunities for enthusiastic, passionate and committed pharmacists to support our pharmacy services across CTMUHB. In these stimulating roles you will work closely with, and be supported by, highly skilled and experienced pharmacy teams. Roles will follow a rotational programme across the CTMUHB footprint to build your clinical knowledge and experience different specialities. Successful candidates will be based at one site to contribute to on call rotas. All posts come with formal development opportunities which may include the HEIW Post registration Foundation qualification or a distance learning diploma. Preferences can be discussed at interview. We welcome applications from newly qualified pharmacists or experienced pharmacists ready for a new challenge. Pharmacy in CTMUHB has a strong culture of learning and development with a focus on support and wellbeing. We work collaboratively across all sectors of pharmacy as ONE team. All sites have established medicines management services and electronic discharge systems. Digital solutions for prescribing and managing medicines are due to be implemented.

Responsibilities
  • The post holder will provide a safe and effective clinical pharmacy and ward-based medicines management service to clinical area(s) and advise medical staff and nurses on pharmacy matters.
  • Rotations are health board wide and could include, medicine, admissions, surgery, trauma & orthopaedics, frailty, palliative care, primary care and prison services.
  • The post holder must comply with current legislation and UHB policies. The recommendations contained within the Code of Ethics as issued by the General Pharmaceutical Council and the obligations in the Standards of Good Professional Practice will be upheld at all times.
  • The post holder will be expected to undertake post-graduation development as identified by service and post holder needs.
  • This post is fixed term/secondment for 36 months due to funding. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Qualifications & Desirable Skills
  • Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn\'t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn\'t need to have skills in Welsh, we\'ll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn\'t \"fluency\", just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

This includes, but is not limited to, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/reassignment, race/nationality, religion/belief, disability, pregnancy and maternity, and marriage and civil partnership. We also warmly welcome applications from members of the Armed Forces community.

Prospective applicants should self-assess their eligibility for sponsorship by visiting the UK Government\'s Work in the UK guidance. For eligible candidates, the Health and Care Visa offers reduced application costs and exempts payment of the annual Immigration Health Surcharge.
  • Please ensure you check your email regularly, as all recruitment correspondence will be sent to the email address provided on your application form. Applications are welcome in either Welsh or English, with no preference given to the language used.
  • We reserve the right to close a vacancy early or withdraw an advertisement to accommodate the redeployment of internal staff into suitable roles.
