A leading NHS Trust in south-east England is seeking a Safety and Governance lead to ensure clinical effectiveness and patient safety within Women’s Services. You will provide leadership in establishing strategies for governance and work closely with clinical teams to manage risks. Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within organisations under the Kent and Medway ICB.
The Safety and Governance lead will manage the governance agenda for Women’s Services ensuring systems and processes are in place and adhered to for clinical effectiveness and patient safety. The post holder will provide leadership, guidance and expertise within the wider multi-professional team for quality and governance. This will include putting in place strategies and frameworks that ensure services meet national, regional and local standards for good governance.
The post holder will implement and monitor the Clinical Risk Management and Safety Strategy for Women’s Services in line with the Trust’s Clinical Risk Management Strategy. They will oversee the governance team in working with clinical staff to identify risks, review risk assessments, report risks appropriately and will ensure that necessary actions are identified and completed and that learning takes place.
The person will be required to participate in the on-call provision.

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date had been agreed.
Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
