Clinical or Counselling Psychologist 8a or 7-8a Preceptorship

Would you like to work alongside other friendly, enthusiastic and supportive psychological therapists in Adult Community Mental Health in Chesterfield in Derbyshire? We are looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Band 7 (Preceptorship) or 8a, depending on experience with progression by appraisal.

Our team of Psychologists & Psychological therapists are passionate about developing services that create meaningful change based on lived experience, so that people flourish, feel connected and empowered to pursue their aspirations.

We have an 0.6wte (22.5 hours per week) role available in the Chesterfield CMHT.We warmly welcome enquiries for a chat about options and your interests.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to provide individual and group clinical work jointly with your colleagues. You will also promotepsychological ideas by offering advice and consultation in addition to supervision and training to colleagues, multi-disciplinary practitioners, the wider organisation and contribute to service development.

We support and develop our staff to work with complexity, for example, by access to training resources to support your work. We offer specialist clinical supervision 1:1 or in facilitated groups e.g. CFT, complex trauma and dissociation supervision.

Working in our friendly Directorate of Psychology and Psychological Therapies, you will be well supported in CPD opportunities. Our team report feeling valued and supported working in a service focused on staff well-being and development, and service transformation.

Person Specification

Training and Qualifications

• Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the B.P.S., and giving eligibility for Chartered status of B.P.S.
• Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC
• Post qualification training in supervision of other psychologists
• Post qualification training in a therapy model

Experience

• Experience of working with clients with a range of mental health problems in a broad range of settings
• Expertise and interest in a specialist area relevant to adult mental health
