At Fairlie Healthcare, we are all about delivering outstanding care to our patients, and the best way to achieve this is to train and support the people who care for our patients. We're now looking for an experienced Nurse and Trainer to teach our staff, Nurses in particular, how to deliver the best, safest possible care.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The scope of this role is to ensure outstanding levels of care are provided to the Individuals living within the service by monitoring and improving the clinical expertise of all clinical staff within the home by means of assessing competencies and delivering/facilitating training within the service.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • To support, working closely with managers, the mandatory training function across Centres
  • To provide safe and competent training to facilitate the transition of staff development from Carer to Senior Healthcare Assistant through the completion of their Tracheostomy, Suctioning, Ventilator and Cough Assist competencies, following organisational career progression pathways
  • Work with Director of Clinical Services and L&D Manager to review, develop and implement competency documents relating to clinical competencies and clinical training pathways relevant to the need of the service and in line with current practices
  • To ensure clinical staff are trained, skilled and competent to provide high quality care in relation to the delegated tasks within the scope of their roles and other health needs of the Individuals living within the service, all the while, by preserving their privacy and dignity
  • Seek out learning opportunities essential to the development of the employees within Fairlie Healthcare by signposting resources and actively planning learning opportunities, internal or external for all staff groups.

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate must:

  • UK Registered Nurse with an active PIN
  • Level 3 aware in Education and Training (or equivalent),
  • Experience in delivering engaging training sessions in a similar setting, both face to face and virtually
  • Good IT skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ideally: experience caring for Ventilator and Tracheostomy patients
  • Be a great communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice
