Aneurin Bevan University Health Board support flexible working.

Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.

This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.

Job Overview

We are currently seeking to recruit highly motivated, resilient, autonomous, proactive and forward-thinking Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist, to work throughout all five Health Board localities which includes Primary and Community Care, Secondary Care and Nursing Homes. The service operates Monday – Friday excluding weekends and bank holidays.

Applicants who do not hold a relevant wound care diploma or equivalent and level of competency but are willing to work towards this will be considered under an Annex 21 (band 6) training post- commencing on a maximum of 75% of the top rate of band 6 pay, depending on knowledge and experience.

Main duties of the job

Managing a clinical caseload of clients with complex wounds using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in a variety of settings, including wards, outpatient clinics, community hospitals and nursing homes. Additionally, it is an expectation all Tissue Viability Nurses provide clinical training both classroom based and within the clinical environment to increase knowledge and expertise across the Health Board.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to attend training courses and conferences relevant to tissue viability.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • RGN - professional registration (NMC
  • Degree or equivalent demonstrable specialist knowledge of mentorship, education and development practice.
  • Successful completion of Tissue Viability/ Chronic Wound management course

Desirable criteria

  • Welsh Language Skills are desirable at level 1 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.

  • Sufficient, demonstratable post registration experience in Tissue Viability at band 5
