Job description

The Pain Management Service at The Royal Marsden Hospital is expanding, and we are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated nurse to join our team as a Band 7 Pain Clinical Nurse Specialist.

In this key role, you will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, using your clinical expertise to deliver and coordinate high-quality care for both inpatients and outpatient clinics across our two hospital sites in Chelsea (London) and Sutton (Surrey). You will deliver advanced clinical assessment and management, support staff development through education, and contribute to service improvement through audits, research, and quality initiatives.

The successful applicant will be primarily based at their preferred site, with flexibility to work across both locations as needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as an expert in pain management and offering comprehensive services through evidence-based practices and policy development.
  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance to staff and multidisciplinary teams, supporting patients, carers, and staff.
  • Maintaining evidence-based practice and contributing to nursing knowledge in pain management.
  • Collaborating effectively with the healthcare team to deliver a coordinated specialist service.
