Qualifications

  • Background in cancer nursing with haemato-oncology experience essential.
  • Degree in healthcare related subject; evidence of Masters level learning.
  • Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant specialist subject.
  • Leadership experiences and psychological skills training desirable.
  • MSc Clinical Examination and research qualification beneficial.
  • Experience of multi-professional working and policy writing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of patient-focused education and self-management resources.
  • Attend case conferences, SRGs and MDTs as required.
  • Actively participate in multi-professional meetings and advocate for patients.
  • Commit to lifelong learning through supervision, appraisal and mandatory training.
  • Support the consultant team and deliver nurse-led haemato-oncology services.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Lymphoma team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Haemato- oncology as a full-time post (Monday - Friday) The post holder will provide specialist advice and support to patients and their carers throughout their care pathway, as well as providing education and support to staff throughout the trust. The post holder will support the consultant team as well as delivering nurse led services for patients with haemato-oncology. This role is currently based at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool, with a clinic in The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Aintree.,

  • Leads the development of patient focused education, including training to self-manage ongoing consequences of treatment.
  • Be an active part in attending case conferences, SRGs and MDTs as required.
  • Actively participates in multi-professional meetings, acting as patient advocate and representing nursing views.
  • Takes personal responsibility for lifelong learning and personal development through clinical supervision, appraisal and maintaining compliance with Trust mandatory training.

    You should possess advanced clinical skills, be an excellent communicator, leader and educator, and be highly motivated to lead and deliver a service. A background in cancer nursing is ideal, recent experience in working within the speciality of haemato-oncology would be essential., Registered General Nurse
  • Degree in healthcare related subject
  • Evidence of Masters level learning

  • Msc Research qualification, Relevant post registration experience, in cancer, palliative care or the speciality.

  • Understanding of Macmillan Cancer Support and it's role across the UK., In depth understanding of evidence based practice and ability to critically appraise and implement research findings into practice
  • Extensive knowledge of national standards and policies within specialist field
  • Evidence of continued professional development
