Acute Coronary Syndrome Lipid CNS Band 6
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Lipid Unit at University Hospital Llandough for a dynamic and motivated CNS, to work in collaboration with the cardiac OP team, for the implementation, development, and delivery of a lipid service, in conjunction with the existing Post PCI clinic.
Extensive cardiology knowledge and a keen interest in lipid management is essential.
The successful candidate should be organised, efficient, and have excellent communication skills, to work collaboratively with the MDT.
We are able to offer a band 6 training position with the aim of successfully achieving competence.
This post is fixed term for 24 months to meet the needs of the service.
The post holder should have an interest in cardiovascular health promotion, an understanding of Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH), and patients and their families requiring Lipid Management.
The Lipid service is rapidly developing, so we would welcome candidates who wish to develop their leadership skills and who would actively take a lead in lipoprotein treatments whilst continuing to develop the role of the CNS in delivering services including lipid management, non-medical prescribing, and research with the post PCI clinic.
The successful candidate will assist in coordinating the Apheresis Programme, be involved in nurse-led cardiovascular genotyping clinics for FH, biochemistry testing, and PCSK9 inhibitor patient clinics. The post holder would also be required to possess competence in phlebotomy skills, have good interpersonal skills and be able to provide sound clinical advice to the patient population.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
