Are you passionate about making a difference for individuals with learning disabilities and autism? As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you'll bring expertise in supporting children, young people, and adults with complex needs, acting as a visible leader in the field of Learning Disabilities and Autism.


The role will provide effective management of the learning disability pathway caseload, to ensure that recovery-focused, specialist health interventions are delivered effectively.

We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Learning Disabilities and Autism) to join our growing Safeguarding Department at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust (BWC). We support flexible working and welcome applications from those seeking full-time or part-time hours, Monday to Friday. This is a fixed-term position until January 2026. It could also be offered as a secondment opportunity if you are a current NHS employee, subject to agreement by your line manager.


As part of our Learning Disability and Autism Liaison (LDA) team, you will be able to make a tangible difference for our children, young people, and women with learning disabilities and/or autism. Working within a collaborative and supportive multi-disciplinary team, including clinical psychologists, liaison psychiatrists, and specialist nurses to help shape holistic, person-centred care at Birmingham Children's Hospital and provide essential support for women accessing services at Birmingham Women's Hospital.
