We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Stem Cell Transplant Unit here at The London Cancer Clinic, based in our Duchess of Devonshire Wing in Devonshire Place, London (W1G 6JA). We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £50,713 - £60,848 per annum.

Our Stem Cell Transplant unit is a purpose-built facility which has gone on to become one of Anthony Nolan’s largest stem cell collection centres in Europe for peripheral blood and bone marrow volunteer donors. There are 12 beds in the unit which features positive pressure ventilation and HEPA filtration and allows us to treat and care for patients with haematological malignancies with SACT and stem cell transplant: Allogeneic, Autologous, Cord, Haplo and CAR-T therapy. We are the first independent private hospital in the UK to gain JACIE accreditation in recognition of our quality standards.

Job Profile

The post holder will work closely with both the haematology Consultants and the nursing teams at TLC. To co-ordinate all aspects of pre, peri, and post-transplant care, including investigations and work-up, TBI, in patient stay and follow up for all stem cell transplant patients. As a member of the multidisciplinary team they will work collaboratively with other members of the MDT to provide the highest standards of specialist nursing care to patients within haematology. The post holder will facilitate and support healthcare teams to implement evidence-based practice, and will contribute to the development of the haematology service at TLC.

  • To provide specialist knowledge, expertise and care to haemato-oncology patients.
  • To ensure continual optimal care for inpatients, outpatients and their families.
  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspect of the patient’s physical, psychological, and social needs, including HNA tool completion.
  • Provide support to patients and their families during their diagnosis, ensuring that they have information to help them make informed decisions regarding their treatment.
  • Holistically support patients and their families during and after their stem cell transplant, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Skills & Experience

  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Master’s degree (or working towards) in relevant field/or equivalent/higher post graduate qualification.
  • Extensive post-registration experience working effectively within haemato-oncology care.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and flexibly as part of a team.
  • Significant post-registration clinical experience.
