Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Derbyshire Children's Community Continence Service. We are a small, friendly team and the lead provider for the Countywide Continence Service supporting children and young people aged 4-19 years in the community to achieve their continence potential.

We are seeking a registered Children's Nurse with a passion for continence care and a commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people with incontinence needs.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively. This is a part-time position for 4 days a week. Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for detailed qualifications, skills, and experience requirements.

Main duties of the job

This role involves providing specialist clinical support to help children and young people reach their continence potential within community clinics across North Derbyshire. It requires working independently with guidance from a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and collaborating with agencies to promote health, education, and wellbeing.

Qualifications and Training (Essential):

  • First level Registered Children's Nurse
  • Post-registration/graduate diploma or equivalent experience demonstrating advanced practice
  • Qualification for supervising, teaching, and assessing students

Desirable:

  • Children's Nurse
  • Advanced communication course
  • CPD relevant to specialist care
  • Leadership training/qualification/experience
  • Non-Medical prescribing
  • Communication skills training

Experience (Essential):

  • At least two years of relevant post-registration experience
