Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cellular/transplant nurse to join the cellular therapy team. The post holder will be managed by the Lead Ambulatory Haematology Nurse and supported by the Haematology Matron and Cellular Therapy & Transplant Programme Director. The post holder will have managerial responsibility for two band 6 CNSs and will coordinate treatment pathways for patients requiring CAR-T and Haematopoietic stem cell transplants within the Cellular Therapy Program at UHL, ensuring the provision of effective and specialised care in collaboration with the cellular therapy consultant team, lead haematology ambulatory nurse, and apheresis coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead clinically in the development and coordination of pathways for patients undergoing autologous/allogeneic or cellular therapies such as CAR-T.
  2. Develop and disseminate policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  3. Ensure safe, effective clinical practice as part of a specialist team, supporting team performance, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  4. Provide educational and training resources to healthcare staff and patients.
  5. Manage a caseload of patients referred for cellular (CAR-T) therapy and act as a resource for patients, donors, families, multidisciplinary teams, and primary healthcare teams.
  6. Support the accreditation process to maintain JACIE standards and participate in quality management programs.
