Clinical Nurse Specialist - Cardio-Oncology

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced nurse to join our Cardio-Oncology CNS team. This post will be a fixed term 12 month contract to cover maternity leave.

Main duties of the job

The clinical cardio-oncology clinical nurse specialist is a role for an independent practitioner working within the multi-disciplinary cardio-oncology team. The post holder will work closely with the whole of the multidisciplinary team to take responsibility for helping to coordinate the clinical care of cancer patients with cardiovascular disease.

Responsibilities will include education of patients and colleagues, coordination of patients' care between the cardiology and oncology/ haematology teams including inpatient care, systematic data collection, clinical audit and multidisciplinary team meeting coordination The post holder will be expected to develop specialized skills and knowledge relating to the field and ultimately to perform nurse-led clinics with consultant cardiologist oversight alongside the main cardio-oncology clinics. The post-holder will be managed as part of the Heart Failure CNS team, with cross-cover as appropriate between colleagues.
