Job summary

GenesisCare in the United Kingdom is recruiting a founding Clinical Nurse Specialist to set up breast cancer services at its new cancer centre. You will be the key worker for patients on treatment, coordinating care with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to establish pathways and standards from the outset.

Qualifications

• Registered adult nurse with current NMC registration.
• Significant post-registration experience in breast cancer care or oncology.
• Experience supporting patients through complex cancer pathways.
• Experience working autonomously while contributing to a wider team.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Nice to have: CNS or advanced practice experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as designated key worker for patients undergoing treatment.
• Manage a specialist caseload of breast cancer patients.
• Act as primary contact and advocate for patients and families.
• Undertake holistic needs assessments and develop care plans.
• Coordinate care across consultants, nursing teams and external providers.
• Provide specialist education and emotional support along the pathway.
• Deliver nurse-led clinics and contribute to MDT meetings.
• Promote self-management and support informed decisions.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and governance.
• Help establish and develop breast cancer services in the new centre.

Job description

GenesisCare, a private oncology provider, is recruiting a founding Clinical Nurse Specialist to set up breast cancer services at its new cancer centre. The post-holder will act as key worker for patients on treatment, coordinating care with consultants and multidisciplinary teams while building pathways and standards from the outset. The distinct feature is the chance to shape a new service rather than join an established one. Current NMC registration and significant breast or oncology experience are needed.
