About the Role

We wish to appoint a Clinical Nurse Specialist with an interest in gynaecological oncology and cancer genetics to join the Women’s Precision Prevention team. You will support an innovative Women’s Precision Prevention (WPP) service in the department of Gynaecological Oncology at Barts-Health NHS Trust and Queen-Mary University of London (QMUL). The post-holder will be involved in the management of women at high-risk of familial gynaecological cancer attending the WPP clinic. Particularly, the role will involve delivery of the ovarian cancer surveillance initiative for high-risk women and risk management options along-with providing support for holistic management of high-risk women in clinic. The WPP team also undertakes mainstreaming genetic-testing for women with cancer. The post-holder will support innovative multi-centre research studies in genetic-testing, risk prediction, and risk management undertaken by the WPP team.

As part of a thriving clinical and research team, you will work alongside the team which includes CNS, Genetic Counsellors, Clinical Research Fellows, Researchers (PhD students, research associates, and Postdoctoral Fellows), Clinical Trial Managers and Data Programmers.

About You

You will be a highly motivated individual with a degree in nursing (or equivalent), a professional qualification (RGN, etc.) and significant post-registration experience as a CNS in a cancer-related area. Experience in cancer genetics is desirable. This is an exciting opportunity for the post-holder to build expertise and a career in genomics and management of high-risk women.

The Gynaecological Cancer Centre of Royal London Hospital serves the North-East London Cancer Network. The team is based at the Royal London Hospital.
