A leading healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Dermatology practitioner to deliver high quality care in Bristol. The role involves independent assessments, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medication as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes. Applicants should have relevant qualifications and experience in dermatology.
The post holder will work as a skilled, autonomous Dermatology practitioner as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care to patients. The post holder will work across divisional and professional boundaries, encouraging inter-disciplinary working for the benefit of improved patient outcomes and efficient use of resources.
Working independently with patients with a confirmed diagnosis they will use their clinical judgement and skills to assess patients and enable them to make decisions on appropriate treatments, taking into account patient safety, individual factors and cost-effective prescribing; and working within evidenced based guidelines. They will continue to support and monitor patients on such medications, escalating issues to Consultant colleagues appropriately.
The post holder will act as a resource to the wider dermatology team, and as a professional role model for Dermatology and the advancement of nursing practice.
They will work collaboratively with Dermatology and Plastics colleagues to develop and sustain a clinically excellent service. They will audit, evaluate and implement best practice. The post holder will be an independent non- medical prescriber, offering advice and expertise within their clinical setting.
Provide skilled assessment of patients with inflammatory skin disease including history taking, physical assessment, and requesting, interpreting and acting on appropriate tests and investigations in a timely manner.
Using expert and specialised clinical and theoretical knowledge in order to safely and appropriately assess and diagnose patients in their care.
Act autonomously within evidenced based guidelines to plan and implement individualised management plans. Formulate clinical decisions and often complex treatment plans to manage skin disease.

Demonstrate competence, knowledge and skills in a wide range of practical procedures
Prescribe as an Independent Prescriber, assessing and prescribing appropriate medication within appropriate specialty guidelines using the British National formulary
To delegate/refer to other practitioners when this will improve health outcomes or when risk and needs are beyond own competence and scope of practice.
Provide specialist advice and support to colleagues within the organisation.
To actively take part in planning, developing and improving services in order to be responsive to patient needs as well as well as Directorate, Trust and National Health Service needs
Take a key role in the development of the North Bristol Trust Dermatology biologics service
Participate in implementing national standards and frameworks at a local level within the speciality.
To be responsible for identifying and addressing his/her own professional, training and development needs in light of developments in service in the specialty.
To promote and implement change within the clinical service and to measure outcome
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£47,180 to £54,710 a yearper annum, pro rata
