* Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.

* Current MaineHealth employee members are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.

P2C is a fast-paced 18-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit providing exceptional care to a diverse and complex adult patient population, with a focus on neurological, vascular, and stroke patients. MMC is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Joint Commission. P2C offers telemetry monitoring for surgical and medical patients. We seek individuals committed to outstanding patient care, innovation, and positivity to join our team.

Our unit includes new graduates and experienced RNs, fostering an environment of inclusivity, learning, professional development, and personal growth. Our team values teamwork and collaboration and is eager to welcome new members.

All new graduate RNs hired into regular positions are automatically enrolled in our Residency program alongside their unit-based employment.

Position Summary

The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values through excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, community commitment, and accountability. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care, services may be provided across the care continuum, including inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current Maine RN license.
  • Experience: No prior RN experience required as this is an entry-level position.
  • Basic knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and research.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical skills to detect patient condition changes and initiate appropriate responses.
  • All new graduate RNs (less than 6 months of experience) are enrolled in a 12-month Nurse Residency Program. Exceptions may be considered for RNs with less than 1 year of experience transferring from another organization or participating in a formal orientation.
  • Eligibility for appointment to Clinical Nurse II after meeting performance criteria at 12 months, per the Clinical Nursing Advancement Program.
