Maine Medical Center's Float Pool offers a unique opportunity for experienced registered nurses to expand their knowledge base and sharpen their skill set. An RN in this position trains across Med Surg floors, Telemetry units, and high-acuity settings within Maine's only Magnet-designated hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. The variety of units may provide opportunities to practice in highly sought-after specialties, including pediatrics and Mother/Baby care, which may not be available at the time of hire. Candidates must possess quick thinking, adaptability, and critical thinking skills. Both full and part-time opportunities are benefit-eligible positions at Maine Medical Center.
The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values by demonstrating excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, community commitment, and accountability. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care, beginning from initial contact through continuum of care across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
Further career progression to Clinical Nurse II is possible upon meeting performance criteria at 12 months.
