For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign-on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 1-2 years of experience and $20,000 for those with more than 2 years of experience!

* Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time RN position. Bonus amount is prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.

* Current MaineHealth employee members are ineligible; former members are ineligible until more than 6 months after separation.

Bean 5 is a high-paced 43-bed medical respiratory unit with an embedded 8-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). The IMC includes our Assisted Ventilator Unit (AVU).

The patient population includes acute on chronic states, respiratory failure, complex vascular, general surgical, neuroscience conditions, sepsis, and multisystem organ failure.

RNs in Bean 5 demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills, as patients may have multi-system issues requiring continuous monitoring, medication drips, frequent interventions, and higher-level respiratory support. The AVU handles patients requiring ventilator support, with a focus on ventilator weaning, requiring frequent assessments and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Working on Bean 5 offers experience in medical telemetry, IMC, and AVU settings. Our clinical team values high nursing and care standards, excellent communication, and patient-centered care, collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.

This is a part-time night shift position, working two 12-hour shifts per week.

Position Summary

The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission by demonstrating excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, community commitment, and accountability. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care, beginning from initial contact through ongoing care across various settings.

Minimum Requirements

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Must enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire and complete it within five years.

* License/Certifications: Current Maine RN license.

* Experience: Minimum of 1 year RN experience; respiratory or IMC experience preferred; ventilator experience strongly preferred.

* Ongoing education: 10 hours annually.

* Demonstrates caring nursing practice, promotes healing, and has effective communication and crisis management skills.

* Can care for diverse patient populations and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.

* In accordance with the Clinical Nursing Advancement Program, a Clinical Nurse II may choose to remain at Level II instead of seeking advancement.
