The R3 unit at Maine Medical Center is an adult Medical Surgical unit serving patients aged 18 and over. It includes a section with 6 intermediate care beds and cardiac monitoring (COR). The unit primarily provides care for general surgical patients, including specialties such as vascular, bariatric, abdominal, trauma, complex wound management, and burn populations. Inpatient experience is preferred.
The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values through behaviors such as excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, community commitment, and accountability. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care, in accordance with national standards and institutional policies. Care may be provided across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
All new graduate RNs with less than 6 months of experience are automatically enrolled in a 12-month Nurse Residency Program. Exceptions may be considered for RNs with less than 1 year of experience transferring from other organizations or participating in formal orientation programs.
